Logitech Wireless Microphone
Logitech Wireless Microphone

This microphone is a nice size, it’s a lot bigger than the standard RockBand microphone and is closer to the size of the SingStar mic. Having said that it fits into the RockBand microphone stand as the diameter around the bottom half of the mic is the same. It weighs about the same as the RockBand microphone – it’s well balanced and feels nice in your hand. This microphone uses two AA batteries but they have a good life. The product claims that they last for up to 20 hours and I’d say that is a fair statement.

When using the microphone it gets great results. The mic is louder than the standard RockBand microphone and it is just as sensitive. I didn’t need to change any settings, I just needed to sync the microphone and we were away. This wireless microphone works up to 30 feet away, which is very impressive. I even carried on singing when I went out to answer the door which was quite entertaining in itself, but more to my surprise when I came back into the ‘party room’, the game had kept scoring from my vocals. And there is two doors and a corridor between where the console was set up and my front door, so the range is very good!

The best feature is of course that this is a wirless mic. There are no cables for people to trip over and you can jump and spin around whilst singing, being a great entertainer for your friends with no worry about getting tangled up or pulling the mic out of the console.

This Logitech wireless microphone works with Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

PlayStation 3 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Bundle
PlayStation 3 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Bundle

The PlayStation 3 is an incredible machine. It is a very good games console but it is an incredible media centre. It does everything you want it to do, obviously it plays PS3 games but it plays Blu-ray movies and it is the only gaming console that is fully Divx certified. I use the console more as a Blu-Ray player than as a games console, but even if that is your main purpose then this is a good buy. It is probably the best Blu-ray player on the market.

This PS3 comes with an 80GB hard drive, which if you’re using as your main hard drive for all your music and films can fill up pretty fast, but the great thing is that you can swap the hard drive very easily for any notebook sized SATA hard drive. I upgraded my laptop’s hard drive and then put my laptops old hard drive into the PS3, it was a snap and now means that I have 200GB of hard disk space on my PlayStation. That’s more than enough space for all of my audio visual files with plenty spare.

The Dueal Shock 3 controller that comes with this bundle works well. When I’m playing the included Metal Gear Solid 4, the rumble in the controller works well. You can feel each explosion and it adds to the gameplay experience. This controller also has more weight to it and it sits nicely in your hands.

The remote control uses Bluetooth technology, a nice upgrade which means you can keep your console shut away in a display cabinet, hidden away neatly but still functioning perfectly.

Key Features
Backward compatible with PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games
DualShock 3 Controller
80 GB storage capacity
Blu-ray player
Supports CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R

PlayStation 3
Voucher for a free download of the Pain minigame from the PlayStation Store
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots game included
Dualshock 3 Rumble Wireless Controller

Wayne & Theresa,
Got our new PS3 and all I can say is “Unreal”. We have it hooked up to our 42″ plasma HDTV and it is wild. Blu-ray is beyond belief and I can surf the net from the comfort of my recliner. Yes I have a recliner and I am about 7 years past 50. The thing that is the kicker is the gaming aspect, I love the sports games, especially MLB “the show” 08. We can almost find our seats at Fenway when we go there. The graphics are simply Top-Shelf. I would describe this product as sensational. Like I said PS3′s are not just for kids. Adam Pickens,
It was shipped and recieved very quickly. The installation was easy and the performance has been outstanding. It is a great gaming system and easy to navigate the internet with its built in internet browser. The blu-ray player has been a nice addition to my hd tv as well. Read Original Review

G155-Gaming and Entertainment Mobile System (Xbox 360/ PS3 Not included) review by Steve Taylor

G155-Gaming and Entertainment Mobile System (Xbox 360/ PS3 Not included)
G155-Gaming and Entertainment Mobile System (Xbox 360/ PS3 Not included)

The G155 is a brilliant self-contained mobile gaming system. Strap your console, put in your controllers, accessories and games and you’re ready to go. It’s compact and has an integrated 15.5″ LED display screen that has HDMI connections so you can play your PS3 or Xbox on the go, weather in a hotel when you’re away on business or vacation. Inside the storage bag there are stereo speakers and also a headphone jack, so you can blast the sounds of your games out loud, or if you want to play in the middle of the night or down in the lobby bar you can keep the noise to yourself.

The case is tough and durable, so if the bag gets bashed whilst travelling or falls over whilst on the floor it will protect your console. I think the design is brilliant and I don’t think that anyone would guess that you’re carrying your PlayStation in this as it is very inconspicuous, which is great. As well as carrying your console the storage bag holds your controllers, power supply and accessories – everything folds away inside the bag. The bottom of the case is a foam base that provides proper ventilation.

The speakers included with this are better than I expected. They’re not the best sound I’ve ever heard but they are pretty good and it’s great being able to hear the sound through speakers rather than just headphones, it makes the gaming experience just as good when you’re stuck in another dull motel room after a business conference. The screen is good quality, it’s connected by a HDMI cable which I think helps achieve the sharp quality.

Key Features
Intergrated 15.5″ LED display with HDMI connection which lets you catch every detail of your favorite games and movies
Integrated stereo speakers and dual 3.5 mm headphone jacks allow you to blast the sound or keep it to yourself
Rugged case protects all your gaming gear from minor impacts
Storage bags hold your controllers, power supplies, and other accessories while traveling
Straps and fitted foam base hold your console firmly in place while also allowing for proper ventilation

Nathan Cardan,
Keeping this short and simple. This is a great product if you game a lot, and travel alot. It takes less than a minute to pack up and less than a minute to set-up. It’s not that heavy with a system in it and the case/design is done really well. Right now, I’m overseas in Afghanistan so this is perfect for me. Once I get home, I don’t do a lot of traveling but I am going to give this to one of my nephews so they can take their gaming with them to their buddies. Read Original Review

Alexander C Campbell,
I use it to play my PS3 while I watch movies on my 32″, the screen is excellent quality. I took it on a road trip, and was able to play games while I was in the motel room. The plastic the case is made of is high quality, I’m not afraid to drop it which is nice, the latches are sturdy. The headphone jacks are a nice touch. The G-155 has made true gaming mobile. Handhelds and portables pale in comparison to being able to take an actual console with you wherever you go. Read Original Review

PostHeaderIcon PS3 Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset – Brilliant!

PS3 Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset review by Steve Taylor

My Overall Review: 4.1 out of 5 stars
4.1 out of 5

PS3 Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset
PS3 Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset

I like these gaming headphones. The design is simple but they do everything that I want them to. They are built well and seem tough and durable. The headphone cuffs are made from soft foam and they fit onto my ears comfortably, even when I’m wearing my glasses – they don’t squish the glasses into my face like some headsets do. I’ve had marathon game sessions with this headset and never had any discomfort!

The 50mm speakers are a good feature, most headsets in this price range only have 50mm speakers and the sound is really good. It’s an amped up stereo and I can’t fault it. The base is balanced perfectly and they are crystal clear. I can hear my enemies footsteps and location from subtle noises, so it gives me the upper-hand.

The control box works very well. It has a mic volume control, a separate game volume control and a mute button. A brilliant feature of this headset is the mic monitor, which lets you hear your own voice and you can control the level of your voice, so that you’re not booming above others. You can also mute all the sound when you want.

This headset has a 12 foot cable which is brilliant, especially when compared to other headsets which only have a cable half this length. Having 12 feet of cable means that you’re not restricted at all during your game play, so you feel more submerged in the game and it makes for a better overall gaming experience.

Key Features
USB powered amplified directional audio enhances game sounds
Oversized 50mm diameter speakers with full bandwidth
Microphone Monitor feature lets you hear what you’re saying while communicating with others
Inline independent volume controls allows personalized balancing of game and chat sounds
12 foot cable length
3.5 mm plug for line input

Chris,
This headset is a great value. For only 60 bucks, you get very high quality sound for both your ps3 and pc or mac. One noticeable thing is the weight – these are very, very light, most of the time i forget i even have them on! The mic is very high quality; reception is clear on both ends. Things sound spectacular on the ps3, especially Bad Company 2. Footsteps are loud, gunshots are powerful, and explosions are very articulate with plenty of bass. Overall, a great headset and a great value. Read Original Review

HB,
Ever since I started using this headset, my COD Kill-death ratio has been through the roof. I can clearly hear footsteps, gunshots, game music…EVERYTHING. I use it on all my ps3 and pc games. Very well worth the cheap price. It looks like the product is sturdy and I assume will last me a long time. My last turtle beach headset’s pin connector stopped working…but this one has usb and pin :) . Read Original Review

Wireless Stereo Headset
Wireless Stereo Headset

These headphones are amazing. Having no wires is so liberating! It’s so quick and easy to pick up these headphones, turn it on and get a very immersive game experience. There’s no cables in the way to distract you, the controls are very easy to use and it’s very simple to mute the audio or mute chat, or to increase or decrease the volume of the audio. This headset is better than I thought it would be and boy am I pleased and excited to use it.

The headphones are really comfy, the leather is plush and good quality and the headphones are very light so you don’t even notice that they’re sitting on your head. The sound is also brilliant. The audio when you’re using chat is crystal clear, with these headphones you can chat to your friends and whilst you’re immersed in the game you’ll forget your friends aren’t actually in the same room as you. I also have absolutely no static, like some people are complaining of. When no-one’s chatting there is total silence, no static whatsoever.

The headphones also charge quickly. After I charged them for 2 hours they lasted over 8 hours. I played a marathon session one weekend and played for 8 hours straight – at the end of this I had no discomfort from wearing the headset for so long, so thumbs up there too.

Armando Navarrete,
Great wireless gaming headset with 7.1 Digital Surround Sound made specifically for the PS3. The battery life is great and they easily sync up to the PS3. The headset can be charged on a PC or PS3 with the USB cable from a PS3 dualshock controller. Quality of headset is amazing while playing video games or listening to music. Also, they have an awesome retractable mic that is noise canceling. Read Original Review

Mel,
I don’t normally do reviews but I must for this. The headset is awesome. I wasn’t sure what to expect but Sony did a good job. I lie to you not, I hear sounds I’ve never heard before in games I’ve been playing for months. I would totally recommend this to any PS3 gamer. Can’t wait to try it out with Battlefield 3 Read Original Review

PostHeaderIcon Nyko Media Hub – Revert the PS3 to its former glory

PS3 Media Hub + review by Steve Taylor

My Overall Review: 3.8 out of 5 stars
3.8 out of 5

PS3 Media Hub +
PS3 Media Hub +

I loved the PlayStation 2 but wanted to upgrade to the new version, missing out on the PlayStation 3 because it just wasn’t good enough value for me to purchase it. When the PS3 upgraded version was released, the one with the 80GB of storage I bought it. However good the new PS3 looked, having only two ports and no card connectivity wasn’t an option for me. So I bought the Nyko media hub, so that I could have the better features of the original PS3, combined with the brilliant spec of the new PS3!

This Nyko media hub offers a solution for those who us their PS3 to watch movies. This media hub has four USB ports, an SD card reader and an IR sensor. The card reader works for SD and MS Pro cards and when these are inserted a red light appears, which blinks when the card is being used. I now have everything connected all the time – my charging/ready charged controller, my USB headset and my PS Eye, with a spare USB slot left free.

The hub does feel quite cheap, with its plastic construction but attach it to your Playstation Slim, it is stable and works well. The device has two ‘hands’ that connect it to your PS3, securely. The hub runs off the power of the PS3, it doesn’t need its own external power source which is useful. The hub sits snug against the PS3 but unlike some other hubs it leaves the HDD and Wi-Fi lights in clear view.

It comes with a remote, so you can control your movie with freedom at long last. The remote is small (85 x 40 x 7mm). This remote is nothing special, but it does the job. I personally didn’t buy this media hub for the remote, I’m happy to use the PS3 controllers – I bought this hub for the extra USB ports and the card reader and they live up to my expectations! :)

If you want to buy this PS3 Accessory they are currently on sale at Amazon through this link.

Here is what current buyers think of the PS3 Media Hub +:

Drew T Pickens,
This adapter does exactly what it says it does. I had read some reviews that said it was difficult to attach but I had no such problems. It looks great and matches the PS3 well. Love this thing. Read Original Review

R Scott Mount,
The Media Hub+ is very helpful in that it adds an extra plugin for any new items you may have purchased for your Playstation 3. I like it because I have a Camera, 2 controllers and a bluetooth ear piece. It makes sense that one can utilize an extra plugin and I do everyday. I like it and am totally satisfied with the quality of the Media Hub+ and its uses. Read Original Review

PostHeaderIcon PlayStation 3 320GB System/PlayStation Move Bundle – Better Than The Wii

PlayStation 3 320GB System/PlayStation Move Bundle review by Steve Taylor

My Overall Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
4.5 out of 5

PlayStation 3 320GB System/PlayStation Move Bundle
PlayStation 3 320GB System/PlayStation Move Bundle

We are Wii converts, until the launch of the Wii we hadn’t bought a new console since the Super Nintendo, way back! The kids were badgering us to get the Wii and we thought it looked fun we caved in. Several years later, after the launch of the motion controller aspect we thought we’d upgrade to the PlayStation. I loved the motion aspect of the Wii but thought the games were quite dull, the Wii is more for kids and the PlayStation 3 is our adult toy! Having said that, try telling the children that this isn’t for them! They love it too and it’s on at least every other day in our house.

The motion controller is brilliant, it’s more interactive than on the Wii. The one to one tracking works spot on. Since buying this bundle we’ve purchased another motion controller, as it’s much more fun being able to play against another member of the family. You can also use the second controller when playing one player games. I’d recommend buying a second motion controller at the same time as this bundle, you’ll really want it right away.

As well as being a great console we also use this for the Blu ray player. We hadn’t got around to buying one yet but it was on our list, well there’s no need to bother now. This Blu-ray is very good, the discs load very quick and the quality is exceptional.

This PS3 comes with 320GB of storage, which is a hearty amount. We’ve copied our complete music library onto the console and it plays back perfectly, connected to our surround sound music system. There’s still tonnes of space left and we’ll probably copy our digital movies onto here at some point as well.

What you get in the bundle:
320GB HDD – plenty enough space for everything
Move controller, of course
PlayStation Eye camera – you need this for the Move feature to work
Sports Champions
DualShock 3 controller (rumble, motion sensitive)
ONE USB wire mostly to charge the controllers

If you want to buy this PS3 Accessory they are currently on sale at Amazon through this link.

Here is what current buyers think of the PlayStation 3 320GB System/PlayStation Move Bundle:

Will Powers,
For the person looking to pick up a PS3 that doesn’t own one, this is an incredible deal. You’re getting a 320gb system which usually retails for $349 and the PlayStation Move bundle for a total of $399. You’re saving $50 over what you would be paying if you bought all of it separately. Definitely look into this if you’re interested in the PlayStation3. Read Original Review

Jen Juniper,
I wish I had bought a PS3 years ago. I’m not a big gamer, but I love the integrated Blu-ray / DVD / music storage and playback. I just feel like it’s been a huge help in getting all of my digital media organized, consolidated and easily accessible. We also own a Wii (which we haven’t used since the PS3 arrived!) and feel that the Move wand is much more responsive and intuitive than the Wii controllers. Though, as I mentioned, we are not big gamers. Read Original Review
